Troops Guarded By Air Force Sharpshooters

Marksmen Watch Over Soldiers

One of the duties that are important to support our military in Iraq is the watchful eyes of US Armed Forces sharpshooters. There are several different groups at the different bases in Iraq that work to provide silent, unseen security.

One such unit is the Tiger Team Air Force security sharpshooters that work at the Kirkuk Regional Air base. Many people think that the Air Force is aviation related, but there are crack teams of sharpshooters that are part of the Air Force Security team.

Each team is made up of 2 snipers, and each team member takes turns acting as spotter, and the other one is tasked as the active sharpshooter. They stay in direct communications with their mission commander, and they are given information by their command as to where people are, their locations, and why they are.

Anyone that they are not told about they are watchful of, and keeping track in case they are in some type of security hazard.

Members of the 506th expeditionary Security Force Squadron Close Precision engagement team work to stay invisible, and to act swiftly as a security defense and precision response team.
