Safety Improved In Baghdad Region

Iraqi Police Continue To Aid Safety

There are many different procedures that are not normally performed in policing in Iraq that are beginning to make a difference. In the past procedures such as community policing has been a unknown quantity, but slowly these types of methods are becoming accepted.

The neighborhood of Salhiya has both Sunni and Shia citizens living in the community, as well as other members of the Iraqi community.

The overall condition of the Iraqi nation continues to improve, and security and crime investigation is improving. The Iraqi Army has been dedicating a large amount of their efforts toward learning new policing and new crime investigation methods.

The rate of crime has dipped sharply. The number of murders have dropped, from nearly 4 murders a day to less than 1 murder a week. This rate of crime has been a positive factor that is well regarded by the community, and it has been largely responsible for helping to establish a health working relationship between the coalition and ISF forces, and the efforts of joint community style policing.
