Emergency Telephone Network Installed And Running Iraq has been slowly increasing the quality and extent of its phone network, and it has established a emergency telephone network that has been completed and is now up and running. It includes a advanced first responder network similar to the “9-11” program that is featured in the United States. In Iraq their first AFRN network operates using the emergency code, “104” and it is the backbone of an emergency communications network. It provides the emergency services connection between the Emergency services of the Iraqi Government and the Iraqi citizens. Baghdad is the first region that is fully featured on the network, and it will eventually provide support and protection for more than 18 million Iraqi citizens across the region. The network was started in 2006, and now with one telephone call there is the ability to be routed to the correct responder or emergency service. The dispatch center is now receiving right at about 1,400 telephone calls each day. Up to recently, the MNF coalition transition team have ran the network, but it was recently turned over to the Iraqi government. They are able to independently manage the network and the associated communications network. Do You Have Prior Service? Get Cash Bonuses For Your Past Military Service.
