Training begins with Basic Combat Training for 9 weeks, where you will study and learn to become an Army enlisted person. After your basic training you will advance to Aviation Operations individual advanced training, where you will spend 6 weeks in simulated combat situations, as well as classroom training. You will be required often to deal with classified material, and you may have to qualify for a security clearance. Each day the Army operates one of the most varied, complex fleets of aircraft found in the world. It is a large fleet of combat planes, passenger, transport and supply aircraft, helicopter and various other aircraft. Work as an Aviation Army Operations specialist is interesting and varied. You will keep logs of outgoing and incoming flights, post and interpret weather reports, and maintain functional files and individual flight records.
