Iraqi Soldiers Participate In Primary Advanced Infantry Course
The different members of the Iraqi Infantry have worked very hard to study under the training of the coalition. Before the surge, the infantry and members of the Iraqi Army had only been able to access basic training, and the training that was being given at that time was sub standard in many ways.
After the start of the Surge one of the first things that the coalition did was evaluate the training that new members of the Iraqi Security Forces, and the Iraqi Army was receiving. They worked to sit down and design an improved, culturally relevant and effective basic training for all members of the Iraqi military.
Then, after the basic training for Iraqi Military was improved, the coalition began to design improved infantry advanced training for the members of the Iraqi forces. This has been a slow gradual process. The members of the Iraq military have been very enthusiastic and willing, and it has began to show in the success of different infantry operations.

The Coalition has designed a number of different advanced infantry courses, including a shoot –no shoot course, courses in map reading, and a variety of tactical infantry operations courses. This has led to increased confidence, and an increase in the ability of the Iraqi military to plan and institute its own missions and operations.
