Joint Security Station Thrasher Succeeds

Southern Ghazaliyah Secured By JSS Actions

Each of the different regions across Iraq has its share of forward operating bases, but each of the different areas and regions have been working to move to the JSS , or Joint Operating Station model.

The JSS model is one that is proving the most successful overall, and is a new concept that has taken the military efforts by storm. In the Joint Security Station method, soldiers from both the Coalition and from the ISF forces are stationed together, side by side, at the forward operating station.

The latest in the JSS forward operating joint stations has been JSS Thrasher, which was first conceived and erected last March. JSS Thrasher took shape on March 14th, and since then it has acted as a fluid and well trained joint unit, working to maintain and keep the peace in the Ghazaliyah region.

In addition to breaking down language and social barriers, the JSS model has helped to keep the insurgency and radical militias from getting a toehold in Iraq. Because soldiers from both ISF and Coalition sources are stationed together, the response to small incidents is swift, and there is less confusion.
