Oil Refinery Made Secure With Cooperative Effort
Recently the forces of the Iraqi government and the coalition joined together to battle a rather surprising issue- corruption at major oil refineries in Iraq. This has been an issue that has caused a loss of revenue and income to the Iraqi government, and it has slowly became a rather major issue.
At first corruption in the oil fields started slowly, with a driver here and there being bribed to give members of the insurgency free fuel, or to look the other way and short a shipment in some way. As the resistance to such measures was found to be rather non existence, the criminals began to become more and more bold.
Suddenly entire shipments were being misplaced, misdirected or out and out stolen. This began to get the attention of both the coalition and the Iraqi Government. Members of the US Army 505th Parachute infantry regiment have started to impose different security measures, with the full support and cooperation of the Iraqi government.
There have now been new checkpoints installed, and a system of electronic access also is in the process of installation. When completed, the new security system will be nearly foolproof, and will prevent the lions share of theft and corruption in the oil fields.

One of the last issues is making sure that the guards that are assigned to the oil fields have been checked out and screened. The guards have been more closely examined, and are now thought to be free from the criminal element that was previously causing an issue.
