Increased Security Encountered By ISF

Iraqi Soldiers Gain Responsibility Working With Coalition Troops

The Iraqi Security Forces have been increasing in the professionalism and success that they have been able to enjoy. The top military spokesman in Iraq spoke to the media last Friday, and spoke about the success of joint Coalition and Iraqi Forces working together to perform patrols and security operations.

The teams that have been formed by the joint efforts have been successful in assisting in the overall transition from Coalition based security to the security provided strictly by the Iraqi Security Forces themselves.

The overall purpose of the transition teams has been to provide teaching, coaching and leadership for young green Iraqi national police and Iraqi military teams. Many of the newest members of the Iraqi security forces have never seen combat, or worked the streets before and so they are relatively untrained.

Despite this, the success and overall proficiency of the Iraqi forces has been on the increase. The Iraqi Security Forces themselves have been successful mostly due to the training and expertise that they have been learning at the hands of the coalition.
