Education Deadlines For Financial Aid

You can access the application for Federal Financial Aid on the Internet, and even file for it using a computer, with no hard copy. In past years you have to print something out, or you have to obtain a paper-based application, and wait for your application to be processed. After you have submitted your application, you should immediately begin to contact schools. You can research a lot about most colleges and universities using the Internet, and if you are in school as a junior or senior you can access your school guidance counselor for college information.

No matter the source, there are scholarship moneys both in the civilian realm and in the military scholarship realm that are unclaimed and un-awarded, because people do not know about or do not apply for the programs. If you are looking at attending college this next fall, you should immediately make sure that you have filed for all of the different types of financial Aid that are available. There are several types, some of which are well known, and others that are not so well known. Probably the best known is the Federal Financial Aid Form, or FAF. It is worth your while, there are literally thousands of different scholarship, grant, and loan program available, so it is worthwhile to search and find some of the more obscure ones and apply. You can only help yourself, and you may find that there is much more educational support money out there then you are aware of. You should visit the web sites for each of the five services, as well as use GOOGLE or Yahoo to do a search. Put in search words such as Education, Military, Scholarships, Grants, Loans, bonuses, etc. You will discover that there are a lot of scholarships and money that is available if you enlist, and that there are even scholarships available for dependents, or relatives of Servicemembers. Your school or town library is also another good resource for information. After you file for the FAF, it normally takes between 7 and 10 days to get a response, but then things can move fairly quickly. When you file for the FAF online you should have a fair idea of where you want to attend, but even if you don’t you should go ahead and file, you can always go back online, sign on and have the form sent to additional schools. So don’t wait, file today.
