Baghdad Citizens Give Aid In Location Of Weapons
More and more in the nation of Iraq, the intervention and the involvement of the local community is becoming a positive trait and issue. Many members of the community are starting to come forward and to share information, and the level and quality of information that is being shared and brought forward to the Iraqi Security forces and Police is slowly beginning to be high quality intelligence.
There have been a number of large weapons and bomb caches that have been found in the region of Baghdad in the last several months, and most of them have been discovered with the assistance and help of some member of the local community.
The forces in the region have more than doubled the rate of discovery of IED and weapons caches over the same time last year, and the only difference is the improvement of the quality of information that citizens are willing and able to share with authorities.
The citizens seem to have finally learned to trust their own security and police forces, and to find that they are truly meaning to help the Iraqi nation. During the reign of Saddam Hussein, the people of Iraq were very distrustful of the police, and many times the members of the police were corrupt.
