Iraqi Doctors Trained In Cleft Palate And Other Surgery Correction
There are often a large number of Iraqi citizens that do not have access to medical facilities, but slowly this is becoming less and less of an issue. But there are still times that members of the Iraqi community either do not have access to proper health care, or they may have special needs for surgery or other medical services but no access.
Recently there was a group of coalition doctors that began a training program, to train Iraqi health professionals and Iraq doctors in the area of dealing with ear nose and throat issues, such as cleft pallet. The doctors began the training program at the Camp Dhi Qar, which is a training camp for the Iraqi Army and a location of a Iraqi Army hospital.
Doctors from the United States and Italy coalition doctors work in the training program to teach the doctors from Iraq how to diagnose, and how to correct different problems of the ear, nose and throat, such as cleft pallet.
The 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry division surgeons work to assist the doctors and nurses from the Iraqi 10th Army division, as well as a group of highly specialist Italian doctors to help Iraqi citizens with their health needs.
