Training for an Army Financial Budget and Financial Management specialist begins with basic combat training for nine weeks where you will learn the basics of how the Army functions and operates. You will learn about different techniques in accounting, including how to compute deductions and military payroll, how to analyze and interpret different types of financial data, principals and procedures of accounting, and how to prepare budgets and reports and how to maintain and account for these types of budgets.

If you are a person who can remain calm in stressful situations, or if you have experience in dealing with financial budgets or financial issues, then this may be just the job for you. You will learn how to work with budgets and numbers, and how to use electronic devices to compute and determine financial budgets. You will work in your specialty, but as you rise in rank you will gradually become responsible for supervising soldiers in other areas besides your own.
