Iraq Officials Grow In Confidence

Government Begins To come Into Its Own

The members of the Iraqi Government have began to become more and more confident, as the level of success that they are able to experience continues to grow. The overall level of attacks occurring in Iraq has fallen considerably. The levels of active attacks occurring in the Baghdad area have decreased to levels that were last seen in the year 2005.

More bombs are being discovered and cleared each week, at an ever-increasing rate, faster than anytime in the last four years.

The Iraqi Citizens are feeling safer, and they are actively working to help rid the country of extremists. The members of the community are willing to take part in and participate in reporting of anything strange or unusual, and the tips have led to large and small caches of weapons, IED devices, as well as small arms and mortar items being discovered, on a weekly basis.

Most of the personnel stationed in Iraq in the coalition will tell you that they feel safer now than at any time since they have arrived in Iraq, and the spirit of the different provinces is now nearly entirely positive, for the first time since the beginning of the coalition surge last year.
