Iraqi And Coalition Join Forces

Al Qaeda Members Captured And Killed In Fierce Fight

Long-term plans are being formulated so that all of the different positive gains that have been accomplished by the Sons of Iraq and the surge are not lost. Recently the joint Iraqi Security Forces worked with members of the Coalition to arrest and capture 8 different members of the Al Qaeda and terrorist insurgency networks.

The Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army are slowly assuming more and more of the responsibilities of the security of the region, and they are being closely assisted by the Sons of Iraq. Along with the excellent training and support that they have received from the coalition, the ISF forces have proven themselves more and more to be responsible, and terrifying to the insurgency, who have learned to fear the ISF forces more and more.

There are nearly 36 thousand different members of Iraqi citizens in the Multi National Division. The members of the Sons of Iraq have been a large factor in settling down the region, their service has been brave and helped lead the local citizens to begin to form deeper trust with the coalition soldiers.

So far, 13 of the 18 Iraqi Provinces have been returned to the Iraqi Government, with the other five being held for a little while longer. Eventually all of the different Iraqi nation provinces will be back in their control, with the ultimate responsibility passing to the Iraqi Government for all 18 provinces.

The ongoing War on Terror has been slowly coming around in Iraq, and the surge has been part of the history of that success. As the surge increased the number of boots on the ground for the coalition, there began to be a group of citizens that began to make a larger impact.
