Washington, D.C.- The three different components of the US Army were very pleased to announce recently that the goals for recruitment in November 2008 were exceeded. Both the Active US Army, the Army National Guard, and the Army Reserve all announced that their goals for recruitment were exceeded by actual recruiting numbers.

The Army Reserve has reported that the number of soldiers that enlisted in November were 3,270 troops, exceeding their goal of 2,811 by 116 percent. This has been a well received bit of news, the Army Reserves especially has had a hard time meeting their recruiting goals at different times.

The US Active duty Army reported that recruiters around the country brought in 5,605 new recruits, exceeding their goal of 5,275 by 106 percent. With the current goals being exceeded this will result in having the future goals adjusted slightly upward to reflect the current recruiting successes.

The Army National Guard, at times one of the easiest of the three to recruit for also exceeded their goal, signing up for duty 5,516 new recruits, surpassing their goal of 4,889 by 113 percent. Each of the different US Army components have done well so far this fiscal year, which started October 1st 2008.

The overall recruiting goals for the US Army is 78,000 new recruits while the goals of 26,500 and 65,000 remain the goals of the US Army Reserve and Army National Guard, respectively.
