New Bomb To Lead Fight Against Taliban

new-bomb-to-lead-fight-against-talibanLondon, England- There is a brand new type of weapon that will help take the fight against the Taliban to a new level. A new next generation precision guided bomb that can destroy targets in all different weather environments and operate 24 hours a day and entered service in the Royal Navy.  It is believed that a version will be available soon to US Forces, and is slated for use by Coalition forces in Afghanistan and Iraq.

It is known as the Paveway IV, and it is a precision bomb that can be fitted to the Joint Strike Fighter, Tornado GR4s, Typhoon Jet Fighters, and even Harrier GR9s. It is a new weapons system developed by the Raytheon Weapons Systems It is GPS capable and laser designator capable also. Pilots can set the program from their station in the cockpit, while on the ground before the mission, or in flight from information provided by on board.

The Paveway IV can be altered mid flight should the target or objective change. It is good for providing Allied joint forces with all weather day and night precision bombing ability, it has sensors and advanced guidance systems that will give it new and improved targeting flexibility.
