Al-Qaida Torture Complex Discovered

Al-Qaida Torture Complex DiscoveredOperation Iron Reaper Troops Find Site And Arrest Suspects
Tikrit, Iraq

The recent commencement of Operation Iron Reaper was a rousing success, leading to the battle and death of twenty-four enemy terrorists.  Thirty-Seven insurgent suspects were also arrested and detained, and during the process a group of nine weapons caches were discovered.

In addition, Coalition and U.S. Troops found a torture complex and atrocity site.

The explosives and numerous weapons were found near Muqdadiyah, and information from a series of citizen tips led Coalition forces to a suspected camp used by Al-Qaida forces operating in Iraq.  They discovered several former operating bases and safe havens used by the enemy and evidence of intimidation, torture and murder.

They continued to work to clear the area, finding what looked to be a former detention center.  Several bodies were unearthed, and eventually nearly twenty-six corpses were discovered in and around the suspected torture site.

They were buried in mass graves next to the torture center.

Operation Iron Reaper has been going on throughout the month of December in Northern Iraq. “Our Iron Reaper Operation has been very successful.  We intend to continue to chase Al-Qaida in this entire area, they will find no safe haven,” said Major General Mark Hertling.

General Hertling is the Commanding General in charge of the Multi-National Divison – North.  “We have been enjoying continued success, and we do not intend to let them rest,” said General Hertling.

Operation Iron Reaper has led to increased security, and a rejuvenation of the local communities across Northern Iraq.
