Van Nuys, California- A number of nationally known movie actors and celebrities joined with members of the National Guard
and Volunteers to prepare care packages for US Troops deployed overseas. “Operation Gratitude” is a California based troop support unit that works to prepare and ship different care packages to members of the US Military that are stationed overseas.
Celebrities that participated in the recent effort included Model Kathy Ireland, Soap Opera actress and movie start Deidre Hall, and Ben Affleck, renowned actor and director. They worked witb over 1000 volunteers to pack and prepare the different care packages to be shipped to troops overseas.
Other Celebrities participating included Leanne Huntley, and Jay Kenneth Johnson. Packages were prepared, stuffed and taped together and over 400,000 packages were prepared and shipped off as a result of this recent combined effort.
This organization has been in operation since 2003, and they have combined to ship over 2.8 million pounds of support materials and supplies in the form of care packages to Servicemember serving overseas. The effort is one made to help show support, care and support for the service of our brave troops serving the USA overseas.
