Adhamiyah Sons of Iraq Members Transition To Iraq Police

adhamiyah-sons-of-iraq-members-transition-to-iraq-policeSuleikh, Iraq- One of the best things to come from the coalition presence in Iraq has been the ability to train and school members of the community to assume leadership and security roles in the reformed nation.

Fifty members of the Sons of Iraq from the Adhamiyah region have completed training and are now officially police officers for the nation of Iraq. They have taken their enthusiasm and patriotism and molded their efforts, working to take training and now are part of the ongoing police efforts.

The coalition for its part have worked hard to provide quality training, for the day when they are fully withdrawn from Iraq. The total amount of members of the police force in the region that have been former Sons of Iraq members is around 400 police officers. They have been some of the most successful and motivated police members, and it has been for the most part a smooth transition.

The Sons of Iraq program has been under the direct control of the Iraq government since October 1st, and it now is under the Adhamiyah Baghdad District control. The ongoing plan to transition SOL members to the police forces has been very successful, it has been a win win situation for all involved.
