Al Asad Air Base, Iraq- The soldiers stationed at the Al Asad Air base recently were treated to a holiday set of performances
by the traveling USO show. Comedians Lewis Black, John Bowman and Kathleen Madigan were joined by musicians Kid Rock, Zac Brown, Tichina Arnold, and Kellie Pickler on December 19th.
The USO group has been traveling and the performance on the 19th was the 7th stop so far on the USO tour. Members of the Regimental Combat Team 5, and a large number of sailors and US Marines with RCT 5 that are getting close to heading home after a year long tour of duty.
Kid Rock has been very faithful in going on USO holiday tours, this is the fourth year in a row that he has went with the USO group to bring a little bit of holiday cheer to soldiers in the field.
“I could be a lot of places, but the only cameras I want to be in front of right now are yours,” he said as he prepared to launch into a musical number. The whole USO tour group was well received by the soldiers, and a super time was had by all.
