Hungary NATO AfghanistanReykjavik, Iceland- One of the Senior US Generals that will work to help close the prison in Guantanamo Bay has spoken out on the issue.

Army General John Craddock was the Commander of U.S. Southern Command from 2004 to 2006, and he believes that there may be issues that raise problems if the prison at Gitmo is closed.

General Craddock was attending a conference at NATO when he made remarks about the issue.

“I am concerned when bad people are let go and released and then show up trying to kill international and American Forces,” said General Craddock.

General Craddock is now the NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Europe and he spoke out after a former Saudi Detainee at Gitmo, Abu Al Hareth Muhammad Al Oufi was spotted last week in a newly released video from Al Qadda.

Al Oufi was formerly held at the Prison in Cuba, and was released last year.

“I have no problems with the prison closing, but there will be issues about some nations receiving and dealing with detainees so they don’t become a problem again,” said Craddock.

The Camp still has about 245 detainees at the prison in Guantanamo Bay Cuba, and President Obama has ordered that it be closed within a year.
