us-soldiers-conduct-humanitarian-food-deliveryBaghdad, Iraq-The soldiers of the United States Military have worked to prevent terrorism and insurgency in the nation of Iraq, but for them some of the most rewarding activity that they have participated in is the different humanitarian efforts.

The members of Multinational Forces Bagdad worked recently with the Iraqi Army and Iraqi Police officers to deliver packages to the School for Girls in Al Suleikh District. The Al Karama School for girls was the site of the most recent humanitarian supplies delivery on January 19th.

The members of the Joint patrol left their base at FOB War Eagle to join and travel to the girls school, and they completed the most recent of many humanitarian food drops during their 15 month tour of duty.

“We work to try and help the Iraq Army in handing out these supplies, and to provide assistance,” said Sergeant 1st Class Jason Obermuller, platoon sergeant with the Multinational Forces Bagdad.

It was the first joint drop in a number of months, and this time is was done with the coordinating and leadership provided by the Iraqi Army. They did well, and it is a testament to the training they have gotten at the hands of U.S. and Coalition forces that they are as professional and well trained as they are. They are good at what they do and worked to swiftly hand out food, water, toys, as well as clothing and other supplies.
