Brigadier General Richard M. Lake is the top intelligence officer for the U.S. Marines and he feels the Marine Corps needs to help encourage more Marines to learn foreign languages, so they can better serve the Corps and themselves on the battlefield as well as Elsewhere.

“We are out among different people, and with better language skills we would have an easier time navigating the human terrain in foreign places,” said General Lake.
