new-hiring-freezes-make-military-enlistment-attractive-againThe newest hiring numbers are in, and they are not good. Lower raises are projected for most companies in the year 2009 and 2010, and many companies are belt tightening. Most companies are not able to hire, and they are putting in place hiring freezes to try and cut costs to try and help with the economic downturn. There are many concerns as the stock market continues to tank, and companies are beginning to suffer.

Nearly 1,000 middle size companies across America plan to reduce by about 40 percent the amount of funds that are set aside for employee raises. This was discovered by an October survey by a New York human resource firm named Mercer.

The United States Military is hiring, and many people are flocking to the different training and Reserve training programs. The training often gives people a chance to lead to jobs requiring advanced levels of training, in a wide variety of different programs.

In addition, for people that join the Military, either in Military Reserves or National Guard Programs are able to go overseas, earning higher levels of hazard pay and combat wages, as well as full medical and dental benefits for their entire family. With the plus of 30 days paid vacation every year, it is hard to argue that the United States Military Service offers a great deal for many people to provide for their families.
