Get in and Out of the Military With Cash

inandoutIn a new program seeking to recruit new people to the military and offer them shorter commitments, the military offers a special incentive program called “National Call to Service.”

If you’d like to help out in the military but aren’t ready for the longer-term commitments, this program is for you. There are still great incentives for registering, you have the satisfaction of doing your duty at a time your country really needs you, and you can limit the commitment length.

The total commitment is about two years. During that time, a recruit is able to sign up for the Army, attend boot camp with a unit, have specialized individual training in preparation for deployment, deploy to serve in Iraq for about 15 months, then return home with no further commitments. They’ll have a military job, then can find a civilian one.

If a recruit signs up for this “National Call to Service,” he or she will be able to get benefits under the GI Bill, and they are also eligible for a $5,000 cash payment or loan repayment for student loans of up to $18,000.

The only difference in this program is that the new soldiers do not get the one-time signing bonuses available to those who commit for longer periods of time.
