What an Army Recruit Can Expect

whatanarmyrecruitcanexpectIf you express interest in joining the Army, you may wonder what will happen next – what will the next steps be, and how will I find out what I need to know to get the best Army job possible?

When you go to an Army recruiter, and let them know you are ready to see about enlisting, they will first have you take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery Test (ASVAB). This test will help the recruiter match you up with the best Army jobs for your personality type and interests, and will guide the rest of the enlistment process.

The next thing to do is to listen carefully as the recruiter explains all the Army benefits. You will have many of these benefits (and they are numerous) throughout your life if you serve well and are honorably discharged, so it’s important to pay careful attention to each explanation and write things down.

Are You Interested in Travel and Learning a Professional Skill? There are career fields in the United States Army Reserves and National Guard for YOU! Click HERE for Details.

Ask for information about enlistment bonuses and tuition assistance, and for details on how to access these benefits, and which extend past the period of service.

You’ll then make important decisions regarding what type of Army job (or Military Occupational Specialty) you’d like to have, and will arrange an appointment for a physical.
