2-reasons-to-join-the-national-guardIf you’ve thought about joining the military because of the great military jobs and other benefits, but you’re unsure whether or not a military career is right for you, consider joining the National Guard. The National Guard is a brand of the military that allows you to serve part-time. That doesn’t mean you won’t ever be called to active service overseas, because when you join any branch of the military that’s a possibility you should be aware of. No one should go into the military thinking that being sent full-time on an assignment can’t happen to them.

But in general, the National Guard lets you serve part time, generally a weekend a month and a few weeks during the summer. Getting military training and experience that fits into your schedule is a definite great reason for signing up.

Are You Interested in Travel and Learning a Professional Skill? There are career fields in the United States Army Reserves and National Guard for YOU! Click HERE for Details.

Also, even though you serve in the National Guard part time, you’ll still earn military retirement benefits. So when you do retire, the time you’ve spent will go toward military benefits to help you in your retirement years. No matter what might happen with your 401(k) or civilian pension, your military retirement benefits are guaranteed to be there when you need them.
