clip_image002As the United States continues to twist in the wind economically, one of the options facing many people is how to find a job and make it through this time of economic difficulty. Joining the military can be a realistic choice for many people.

Enlistment Bonuses

Currently, the maximum enlistment bonus for recruitment is $40,000. This can be a lot of money that could be used to help a family meet current financial obligations, invested for future use like paying for a child’s college expenses or helping to pay for your own college aspirations. Enlistment bonuses apply to every branch of the military and can be very tempting to new potential recruits. They are designed to encourage enlistment to the US Military.

The actual amount of your enlistment bonus depends on the branch of service (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force) and the length of enlistment contract.

Special Pay

In addition to regular pay and other benefits, there are special circumstances under which the United States Military will pay additional financial benefits to service members. These special circumstances include special assignments, hardships, hostile fire, hazardous duty, warfare, diving duty and other circumstances. Special pay is an additional monthly amount that is added to regular monthly pay and all special pay programs may be suspended at any time by order of the President of the United States.
