Long Term Benefits

If you enlist in the military, regardless if you enlist in the Army, Navy, Marines or Air Force, if you reenlist past your initial four year commitment there are numerous benefits. For starters, your first enlistment may entitle you to up to $40,000 in enlistment bonus incentives, depending on your branch of service and length of enlistment contract. Beyond your initial enlistment, each time you reenlist you receive a significant bonus for continuing your military career commitment.

Beyond enlistment bonuses, if you serve in the United States military for at least 20 years, you are eligible for a substantial and significant pension, particularly if you become an officer. If you begin your military career in your 20s, retiring at 20 years will still allow you the ability to embark on a second career, making it entirely possible to fully retire with a substantial and significant pension amount from two careers. This could make your golden years golden indeed.
