Hilary Clinton made a bold statement on Thursday which congratulated communist China as it was their 60th anniversary since they began their communist rule. With this statement came promises of continually improved relations between the United States and China. She stated, “I would like to extend warm wishes and congratulations to the People’s Republic of China on the 60th anniversary of its founding on October 1. In the last 30 years, China has undergone an extraordinary economic transformation, lifting millions of people out of poverty. This is truly a historic accomplishment.”
What do you make of Clinton’s comments to congratulate communist China? I am fully in favor of improving relations with China and continually developing better economic relations with the nation but I have to call Clinton out and say that her words of congratulations were lies. Is she truly supporting the communist regime in China? Granted it is not so bad as many historic communist parties but it is still a fundamental opposite to the market values we hold in America. Is she being un-American in congratulating China for their communist rule? Can we support these kinds of statements?
Either way you look at it Clinton is working to improve ties with China which will benefit the US economically and militarily as China is an excellent trade partner that we cannot be without. However I do not approve of her lying to accomplish this feat.
