On Thursday night, a space plane made for the US military was launched into space from the Cape Canaveral Air Station in Florida. But it remains a mystery to most of us what it is for.
It looks like an aircraft but it appears to be a lot more than that because the military kept it as a really big secret to the public. Could it be the next generation space shuttle under observation? Well, whatever it is , the Pentagon sure know how to keep big things like this in deep secrecy and then shows it off as a surprise making people both proud and worried.
The mystery space plane is an Orbital Test Vehicle, named as X-37B. Other than knowing its an OTV, the Pentagon has not released much information about this space plane and its unexpected flight. Because of that it has raised much hype to civilians that it could be the start of military operations in space – sort of a spacewar. They have started that belief that the military made this for weaponizing space – that it could work as a “quick-response vehicle that could be sent very quickly with weapons to a danger spot.”
However, military officials have already argued that this is just an updated version of a space shuttle so I believe there’s no need to worry. I will discuss this X-37B OTV so we can have a clearer perspective on this.
