Cyber security has been one of the growing concerns in the 21st century of industry professionals especially with the recent cybersecurity problems that even Google wasn’t equipped for. Now, the Obama administration is coming under increasing pressure from the public to fast track cyber policies as industries have lost millions in the recent years and could be losing more every second unknowingly.
The cyberspace has a vast expanse just like the universe – well, most likely – so much patience and time must be taken to make policies regarding cyber security. However, as the internet is also a fast-paced cyber community, cyber security officials must really work hard to make the start of making the internet a safer place.
If you remember, the White House released a Cyberspace Policy Review last year which you can download from their website. It is 76 weighty pages exploring the state of the nation’s cyber defenses which ‘is still not a plan, but rather a plan to begin planning.’
The good news would be so far, as cyber policies are concerned, the administration is now ‘in the process of rethinking what it is ought to be doing,’ as Larry Clinton said. Well, definitely it should be a good start as a year has passed and the cyber space is becoming more threatening every second.
Now, just a question, what do you think should be included in the cyber policy? As part of the web community, what would be your personal concern when it comes to cyber security?
