North Korea Plutonium Documents

Written by Jonathan Formby

The last nuclear test that North Korea has run was in October of 2006. Since then, The United States and other world superpowers have been engaged in attempts to convince North Korea to disarm their nuclear weapons and facilities. For several years, there has been tension between the United States and North Korea over matters regarding nuclear weapons.
Currently, North Korea is disabling is plutonium-producing reactor and its Nuclear plants as a result of an agreement reached with the United States, Japan, Russia, China, and South Korea. If North Korea follows through with the agreement, the US will give energy aid to North Korea while establishing a formal peace treaty with the nation. As a result of such a treaty, all US sanctions will be lifted. However, there is still one area that needs to be cleared up. The United States still needs to conduct formal testing and receive documents detailing the denuclearization of North Korea. The US is in the process of doing so.
Today, a United States envoy was scheduled to leave North Korea with documents about its nuclear facilities. As of now, things seem to appear optimistic. However, only time will tell what our relationship will become with North Korea. Regardless, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
