With Mother’s Day on Sunday, who has been busy focusing on mothers serving in uniform overseas?
Move America Forward - a non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to fighting terrorism and supporting our Armed Forces in their mission 100 percent.
Running a special campaign calling for citizens to help send care packages to, in their words, “Women of the United States military who serve this nation, defend our freedoms and still raise their families,” MAF has managed to make Mother’s Day especially meaningful for a large number of mothers serving in places like Afghanistan and Iraq.
These care packages included premium coffee, cookies, beef jerky, Gatorade and a personal message from each care package sponsor which was sent directly to recipients.
Why have these particular items gone out in care packages to mothers serving overseas? According to MAF, they are commodities most needed and in short supply among deployed units.
But mothers overseas aren’t keeping these goodies completely to themselves. MAF reports that
mothers have been busy sharing their care packages with other members of their units, including the guys. After all, everybody deserves a little treat on Mother’s Day.
What a beautiful gesture. And to think, no politics or profits were involved.
Bravo Zulu, Move America Forward. Mothers across this great country of ours thank you!
