Nuclear Issues with Iran

Written by USPatriot

On Wednesday the United States stated that they could no longer let Iran stall with nuclear negotiations. According to Stephen Hadley, the US national security adviser, the Iranian regime is attempting to stall for time so that they can continue to pursue nuclear aspirations. He also stated that, “a nuclear-armed Iran would be disastrous for the peace of the Middle East and the world.” Hadley was speaking on the five-year anniversary of the development of the Proliferation Security Initiative which purposes to keep nations from developing deadly weapons. He also alerted members of 81 countries who were present that North Korea still poses a serious threat to the United States. He brought up an incident in 2007 where international inspectors intercepted supplies which North Korea might have used to conduct ballistic missile tests.
Hadley went on to describe that the United States would hold any nation “fully accountable” if they help United States enemies acquire supplies for weapons of mass destruction. He said, “The United States has made clear for many years that it reserves the right to respond with overwhelming force to the use of weapons of mass destruction against the United States, our people, our forces, and our friends and allies.”
The greatest fear of the United States is that Iran is attempting to use uranium enrichment to make atomic weapons that could cause the death of tens of thousands of people.
