President Bush has yet again stated that he will not withdrawal troops from Iraq unless there is circumstantial evidence to support such a decision. His words are in response to popular democratic demands for a withdrawal timetable for troops to be permanently out of Iraq. What do you believe the president should do about the war in Iraq? It is evident that he is certainly facing some harsh criticisms from colleagues and the press about his handling of the war in Iraq. Do you believe that the president has done anything right with the war on terror? Honestly I think he has done an excellent job leading this nation – but that is just my opinion. If you happen to disagree, please feel free to say so.
President Bush continued his speech about Iraq stating, “The Iraqis have invited us to be there. But they share a goal with us, which is to get our combat troops out, as conditions permit. Matter of fact, that’s what we’re doing. Return on success has been the strategy of this administration, and our troops are coming home, but based upon success.”
At this point in the game, should the president be hoping for success in Iraq or simply trying to get the troops out quickly? What would success look like in Iraq? If you have any ideas as to that, please share them.
