Iran stated on Tuesday that it will not continue to defend itself every time someone object to their nuclear program. The comments from Iran were in response to a less than positive report issued from the UN watchdog that investigated the facilities. Knowing that the United States could attack Iran for their continued disobedience, Iran stated that they would stop oil shipments if they were attacked.
On Monday a report was issued by the IAEA which stated that Iran was trying to buy time to continue pursuing their nuclear program. The report also stated that Iran was in fact pursuing uranium enrichment. Iran responded to United States concerns by saying, “We do not think there should be an open forum so America can bring up a new claim every day and pass it on to the agency, expecting Iran to address any claim.”
From their continued stalling tactics and their threats towards the United States it is evident that Iran is pursuing Uranium Enrichment. Why else would they fight UN inspections into their facilities? Why would they get so mad when the US asks questions about their program? It is only natural that we would be concerned by the actions of a rogue nation such as Iran.
What do you think about this issue? Can we trust Iran at their word or must we insist on seeing proof? What if we attack Iran because of their nuclear program? Would they really stop shipping oil to the US? Wouldn’t that pose a significant damper on their economy?
