China has sought out help from the Ukraine in order to have a better developed aircraft carrier program for their navy. A new Chinese carrier has been developed based on designs from the Russians.
One of the primary objectives in dealing with the former soviet republic of Ukraine is to learn how they are training their military personnel and pilots. For some time now the Chinese have been sending their military officers to watch and learn about training so that they can implement changes into the Chinese military program. All of this will culminate in an aircraft carrier battle group being built by China. Should we be alarmed at this development? My first inclination is to say probably not. It is in every nations best interest to have a current and up to date military. However if we think back to recent developments with China, we remember that this is a nation that currently has one of the most advanced space espionage programs in the country. China’s intelligence program which uses satellites to hack into US governmental computers is unrivaled by any other nation. My point in saying this is that China might be more aggressive than we have believed in the past. If they are actively spying into the US government, shouldn’t we be concerned about what they might want to do with a new fleet of aircraft carriers?
