The US is taking active diplomatic action to ensure that North Korea does not fire a nuclear missile at our territories. However Washington has announced that in the event North Korea does fire a missile, they will be prepared to intercept the missile. The event which has everyone worried is the scheduled “satellite launch” in North Korea. Officials from both the United States as well as China suspect that the real purpose of this “launch” is to test a missile which could hit the US.
The United States currently has interceptor ships in Hawaii on standby ready to be deployed if the President merits the situation worthy. Admiral Timothy Keating in Hawaii stated, “should it look like it’s something other than a satellite launch, we will be fully prepared.” He continued to reassure reporters commenting, “Odds are very high that we’ll hit what we’re aiming at.”
The United States is well prepared according to Charles McQueary of the Pentagon. McQueary stated that the US military has carried out various testing scenarios for a North Korea strike and each time we have succeeded in demolishing the threat. While no one can be certain that real life events will follow suit of testing success, I for one am confident that the US will be protected. After all, we have 18 ships with radar tracking and 28 land interceptor systems to take down a missile.
In all reality, I don’t believe that North Korea has any intention of firing a missile at the Untied States. I think it is entirely possible that this is just an attempt to gain a greater bargaining chip for discussions of aid for the country. However we should certainly be prepared for every scenario.

Thanks, makes me feel better. Glad to know even with Obama in office at least our Military will still protect us.
