So what do you guys think about the war in Iraq? I am curious to hear some perspectives from enlisted soldiers as well as families of those fighting in Iraq.
If you are neither of these, your input is still welcome. I must admit first, that it seems a little difficult in this day and age to come to a sound conclusion about something as politically disputed as the war in Iraq. If you turn on the news, depending on what station you tune into, you will get a different story. If you listen in on a liberal broadcast from the democrats, you will hear President Bush cursed. You will also hear an array of plans that will be instituted by various politicians running for president. In one debate I watched recently, Hilary Clinton stated that she would withdrawal troops from Iraq in as little as sixty days. What do you think of such a comment? Do you believe it would be wise to throw in the towel and withdrawal troops as soon as possible? To do so would be to admit our reasons for entering Iraq were faulty in the first place. What kind of message does this send to our soldiers?
On the other hand, if you tune into a republican broadcast you will hear about some of the successes of the current Iraq war. Since the war began, I have found it difficult to determine who was speaking the truth and who was embellishing facts. I suppose the truth probably lies somewhere between democratic and republican views on the war.
Please let us know what you think about the war in Iraq. Is there any end in sight for this war? Or do you believe it will continue to drudge on. Do you believe we are in Iraq for noble reasons? Is there anything we should be doing differently in Iraq?
Whatever your thoughts and political agenda are, we welcome your input here. Please feel free to share your insights and your questions so that we can discuss this issue that is at the forefront of our military leaders minds.
