Israel conducted a missile defense test on April 7th which was a tremendous success. The Arrow II interceptor which was partially built by Boeing succeeded in it’s mission to shoot down the test missile in a successful illustration of Israel’s defense capabilities. The test was administered by the Israeli Ministry of Defense as well as the United States Missile Defense Agency. The missile interceptor is the culmination of a joint venture between Boeing and Israel Aerospace Industries. To date Israel has tested this missile defense technology twice with a successful test each time. The Vice President of Boeing stated, “Boeing is proud to co-produce Arrow II interceptors, which provide the state of Israel with a proven defense capability against ballistic missile threats.”
The successful test could not have come at a better time with tensions in the region flaring.
Boeing is an excellent defense company which has a history of turning out some of the best military products for the United States and our allies. It makes me feel better about the current state of global affairs to know that Israel is capable of combating harmful ballistic missiles. Furthermore it gives me greater confidence in the equipment that Boeing manufactures which is for the United States. I am grateful that we live in a nation which has the funds to develop and sustain a successful, state of the art defense program.
