In discussions between Russia and Japan, both nations agree that a nuclear North Korea cannot be tolerated. Furthermore there is consensus that the nations cannot allow North Korea to get away with nuclear testing unscathed. The Russian government believes that a nuclear North Korea will lead to a breach in international security. Russia is now ready to impose sanctions on North Korea after the most recent nuclear testing.
It is obvious that the entire industrialized world is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with North Korea. Does this mean that we should go to war with the nation or continue to pursue diplomatic alternatives? Can we afford to simply do nothing while an unstable nation develops dangerous nuclear weapons capable of wiping out thousands of people? It makes me weary to see North Korea continuing to defy global orders in pursuit of nuclear weapons. Somehow a regime change needs to take place in that nation to ensure that there is some measure of cooperation with the rest of the globe.
All I know is this: if North Korea continues down this path, forsaking all options the United States and the UN offer, they will end up with one nation or several engaging them in war. The powers of this world will not continue to idly sit by and watch as radical North Korea develops dangerous weapons. Their time is limited as far as I am concerned. I only hope that they will finally concede to UN demands allowing this conflict to die down once and for all.
