The GRE andGMAT
Beforeyou apply to grad schools, you most likely will need to take the GRE or theGMAT, but this can be costly. Luckily, DANTES will reimburse you for the costof the test. All you need to do is schedule and take the test as normal andpossess a current Armed Forces ID card. Be sure to request reimbursement within 90 days of your scheduled testdate. Simply contact you Test Control Officer to ask for the appropriate form.
Decisions
Asyou begin your search for a military-friendly graduate school program, thereare many factors to take into consideration: location, on-site learning v.remote learning, degree options, programs offered, cost, accreditation, and ofcourse the other side of the coin—whether your grades, test scores, andexperiences will qualify you for acceptance.
Evenwhen you determine your criteria for a potential match and use that criteria tonarrow your options, there are a lot of choices left. The tough part is tochoose a school that not only looks right on paper, but also fits yourlifestyle. We recommend that you use our School Finder to narrow your options first. Then, when you are ready, indicate that you’dlike to be contacted by a school admissions counselor. This is your chance to ask the right questions of the representative—ones thatwill help you determine if the school is a real option. If it seems like it maybe a good fit, consider a campus tour. This can tell you quite a bit about thepersonality of the school—you’ll see the students interacting and perhaps youcan sit-in on a class.
