You do have to be a US citizen to join the armed forces. Although I have seen people taking the citizenship oath who are already in the service and in uniform, we are not aware how THOSE situations work. You would need to find a recruiter and ask for sure. If there are no recruiters near you, find one in the states that you can at least ask questions of.
