Is it true: Ryan Seacrest to Replace Regis Philbin

There's speculation that Ryan Seacrest host for American Idol, will be replacing Regis Philbin as co-host for Live with Regis and Kelly.

Philbin had triple byp*** surgery in March 2007 and announced in December that he will be cutting back to a three-day work week.

According to The Globe:
“Ryan would be the perfect successor to Regis. He’s subbed several times for Larry King on his CNN talk show, he has his own syndicated morning radio gig, hosts the biggest show on TV, and does special events and red carpet coverage for E! Entertainment Network.”

I would say he's ready to co-host Live w/Regis & Kelly.

I like Ryan Seacrest. I think he would be a great host for live w/ Regis and Kelly. I'm glad Regis is still gonna host three days a week for the simple fact that the show just would'nt be the same without him. It was'nt bad when Kath Lee left the show and was replaced by Kelly Ripa because Kelly fit in from day one and it was like her and Regis were meant to host that show together.
