Default Drivers banned from holding pets on laps

Pull over and put down the dog. A California lawmaker wants to ban motorists from holding pets on their laps while driving.

The bill was introduced after seeing a woman driving with three dogs on her lap. Pets are a distraction that put motorists and their p***engers at risk. Same concept as the cell phone.

I too sometimes drive with my dog Bizkit on my lap, and a friend of mine that does dog shows said, it wasn't good. She said that dogs should be in a cage buckled up just like a child (not in a cage but a car seat), because if you have your dog in your lap and you get in a car reck, there is a very good chance that your dog could be hurt or even killed. It kind of made me think, and I love my dog so much and his life is in my hands, so I will do whatever it takes to make sure he is safe.

I love my doggie daisy and she enjoys being in the car, but I agree dogs should not be able to ride on the lap. It is destracting for the driver. I know that I don't like to take her anywhere when it is just her and I because she does like to climb on my lap and I feel like I she is in my way and that she may cause me to have an accident.
