Default Women in navy seals?

Curious, why don't they let women try out for navy seals? They're as tough as men in some incidences...

I personally know some women who could end the war single handedly... ;-)

Lightbulb liability maybe

maybe there's more at risk for a woman to be in an extremely dangerous situation, not saying that a man has less to lose, but maybe the pschological reprocussions of her fellow soldiers may inhibit or flaw their performances....an example would be....the female soldier is wounded and screaming, pinned down by sniper fire, and any attempt by another soldier could lead to more wounded or KIA's....personally i know more than just a handfull of men that couldn't bear to see a woman in such a predicament, the weight of knowing, caring, and loving a person could lead them to actions they might not usually consider....as in, running boldly to ***ist their comrade, and making themselves an easy target....consider the psychological affect of a woman screaming in pain, and put yourself in her male counterparts boots....what would you do?

you are probably exactly right - and by the same token there would be some women who would not bring that sort of response from her male counterparts and also some male soldiers who would not be at the mercy of that sort of thought process. Like so many things, this might be something that depends upon the individual alone. thoughts?
