Default Question on nearsightedness

I've always had an interest to become an air force or navy pilot and eventually, an astronaut. The problem is, ever since my teens I learned I was nearsighted. Plus, I just found out that N.A.S.A. automatically disqualifies anyone who undergoes lasik surgery. Is it because they're concerned about its long-term affects? Does the air force or navy have less severe restrictions about nearsightedness?

Not sure about that one - once again actually talking to a recruiter rather than us will get you definite answers alot faster... give it a try...
