US Army Education Benefits

The US Army wants nothing more than for every soldier to reach his or her educational goals. There are many education benefits that can assist soldiers who are interested in taking their schooling to the next level.

In addition to financial assistance, the education programs sponsored by the Army are customized to suit the needs of an Army soldier. This includes everything from frequent deployments to staying on track from even the most remote locations.

For example, the Continuing Education program makes it simple for active duty soldiers to take advantage of the Tuition Assistance Program. With this, the Army will pay for tuition and fees up to a maximum allowable amount ($250/credit hour).

What about the College Loan Repayment Program? For those who have already obtained a college degree, this program is available to help with the repayment of any student loans. Did you know that the Army will pay off up to $65,000 in loan debt? Although a three-year enlistment is required, with financial assistance like this it is a great idea.

Active Duty Benefits

If you are currently serving as an active duty solder, there are quite a few education benefits to take advantage of. Some of these include:

– Tuition Assistance

– College Loan Repayment Program

– GI Bill

– Montgomery GI Bill

With the ability to rely on more than one benefit, most soldiers find that they can earn their degree in no time at all.

What about those in the Reserve and National Guard?

You may not be active duty, but that does not mean you are left out in the cold in terms of educational benefits. Here are some of the programs that apply to those serving in the Army Reserve or National Guard.

– Tuition Assistance

– College Loan Repayment Program

– Reserve Education Assistance Program (REAP)

– Montgomery GI Bill

Veterans are Included too

Although your time in the Army may have come to an end, you are still in position to take advantage of many benefits.

As a veteran, you have access to many of the same benefits as those serving in active duty or in a reserve role.

– Post-9/11 GI Bill

– Montgomery GI Bill

– Veterans Upward Bound Program

– Veterans Educational Assistance

– Reserve Education Assistance Program

– Survivors’ and Dependents’ Education Assistance Program

When you become part of the US Army, you can be rest assured that your educational needs will be taken care of – no matter if you are currently serving or have been out of service for many years.
