US Army Aircraft Electrical Technicians

The US Army maintain a large number of different Aircraft and equipment. There are many different Army missions, and the Army uses personnel to keep their Aircraft in top running shape. The Army Electrical Aircraft technician is a job that is involved in keeping various Army aircraft in a high state of military readiness. Hundreds of these missions need maintenance crews and one of the main important crewmembers is the Army Aircraft electrician. You will work to perform repair and maintenance on various military aircraft that are featured in the Army arsenal. The Army Aircraft Service electrician is the Servicemember that works to keep aircraft in top running shape electrically, and supervises much of the repairs needed on avionics and electrical equipment. Its up to the Army Electrician to keep all the different lights, electrical systems, instruments, landing gear, and other electrical power aircraft parts working and in top running condition. With each new aircraft and type of airframe, the need for trained electronics and electric systems specialists increases. Some of the tasks that you may be asked to perform as an Army Aircraft Electrician include: repairing electrical systems on various Army Aircraft, working to use various testing equipment and materials to insure military readiness and prompt repair. You will be asked to troubleshoot and diagnose different service issues on Army Aircraft, as well as performing inspection, and repairing, adjusting, testing, installing and troubleshooting electronic elements and electronic subsystems. You will be responsible to make sure that these systems as well as the electrical portion of weapons systems on Army helicopters and fixed wing aircraft are repaired, operated and properly maintained. You will attend basic training for 9 weeks. You will then advance to 19 weeks of individual advanced training, where you will learn electrical theory, electric system maintenance, troubleshooting procedures and other repair techniques.
